On Sunday, November 11, 2024, at approximately 12:47 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to a reported shooting on the 700 block of East Lenoir Avenue. Upon arrival, law enforcement located a 15-year-old male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his extremities.
A tragic hit-and-run at Kinston's Carver Courts Apartment Complex on Friday evening left a two-year-old girl dead and a 35-year-old man seriously injured. Kinston Police quickly identified and apprehended the suspect, Rashaun Wade, 22, the child’s father, who now faces charges of second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run, and DWI.
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, at approximately 12:06 AM, Kinston Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a subject that struck a pole with a vehicle at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Harvey St. Officers were also advised that the subject driving the vehicle appeared to have been shot.
On the morning of November 4, 2024, at approximately 6:00 AM, officers from C-Squad responded to a reported breaking and entering on the 1500 block of Charlotte Avenue. The caller, a juvenile, informed authorities that 32-year-old Omar Wilkes had unlawfully entered their home before fleeing the scene.
On October 31, 2024, officers from C-Squad responded to a reported breaking and entering at a residence in the 300 block of East Bright Street. Upon arrival, officers observed two men, Bryan Bouie (35, of Kinston) and Allen Campbell (39, of Kinston), arguing on the front porch.
