Kinston Police arrested 30-year-old Shaquille Bryant after he allegedly exposed himself at the Dollar Tree on N. Herritage Street. Officers responded to the report on Jan. 30, 2025, and later apprehended Bryant, who is now being held without bond.

On January 28, 2025, officers responded to information regarding a stolen vehicle in the area of Highway 70. Officers located the vehicle at the Circle K on Highway 70, parked at the fuel pumps.
On January 25, 2025, investigators with the Kinston Police Department obtained warrants for the arrest of 36-year-old Benjarman Carraway of Goldsboro, NC. Carraway is facing charges of Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
On January 27, 2025, at approximately 2:26 AM, the Kinston Police Department's D-Squad responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Circle K located on W Vernon Avenue. Upon arrival, the store clerk informed officers that the suspect, later identified as 47-year-old Bernard Bowden JR of Kinston, attempted to purchase alcohol after hours.
On January 25, 2025, at approximately 2:56 AM, the Kinston Police Department's D-Squad responded to a disturbance at an apartment in Mitchell Wooten. Upon arrival, officers encountered a large group of individuals, primarily juveniles, and detected a strong odor of alcohol.
On 01/24/2025 at 10:20 a.m. Officers with the Kinston Police Department, responded to the area of 2400 block of N. Herritage St. regarding a gunshot victim. The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center via ground unit. Investigations and crime lab responded to the scene and began investigating the incident.
A suspect taken into custody last weekend after allegedly breaking into a sweepstakes business has also been charged for a plethora of other similar break-ins since June 13.
