Snow Hill Man arrested following shots fired report
January 30, 2025 – At approximately 12:30 AM, Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Jack Rountree. Upon arrival, officers made contact with four individuals in a vehicle. During the encounter, officers observed the front passenger, 19-year-old De’onta Dixon of Snow Hill, NC, reaching toward the vehicle’s floorboard.
As officers investigated, they discovered a handgun in the area where Dixon had been reaching. Dixon was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm and was denied bond due to being on pretrial release for unrelated firearm charges in Greene County.
