Trillium providing funds for adult and child behavioral health urgent care facility
$2M will establish facility operated by S&H Youth and Adult Services in Kinston
Trillium Health Resources is providing $2,000,000 to help develop an adult/child behavioral health urgent care facility (or BHUC) operated by S&H Youth and Adult Services. The facility will serve individuals regardless of county of residence or payer, and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The BHUC will also serve individuals presenting with any diagnoses, including mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, substance use disorder, or traumatic brain injury.
Along with the construction of the facility, additional planned impact of the BHUC will be:
Staffing and Training:
Recruitment: Employ staff capable of providing urgent behavioral health care for both children and adults in compliance with service definition.
Training: Provide training in urgent care protocols, mental health assessments, and patient management.
Operational Procedures:
Urgent Care Protocols: Establish protocols for the immediate assessment and management of urgent behavioral health cases.
Community Integration: Work with local emergency services and healthcare providers to ensure seamless integration and coordination of care.
“We are honored to partner with Trillium Health Resources to bring this much-needed Behavioral Health Urgent Care facility to Kinston,” said LaTanya Hardy, S&H Youth and Adult Services Inc CEO. “This investment will allow us to provide immediate, compassionate, and comprehensive care to individuals and families in crisis—regardless of their background, diagnosis, or ability to pay. Our goal is to create a place of healing and hope where both children and adults can access the support they need, when they need it most.”
