Kinston Police Department announces arrest in indecent liberties with a child case
On April 25, 2024, the Kinston Police Department (KPD) received a report regarding an alleged incident of indecent liberties with a child. KPD’s Investigative Division promptly launched a thorough investigation into the matter. After completing the investigation, the case was presented to the Grand Jury.
Following their review, the Grand Jury returned a true bill of indictment for indecent liberties with a child. On January 17, 2025, Randall Atkins, 36, of Kinston, was arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office in connection with the charges. Atkins is currently being held at the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
