August 17, 2024, KPD's A-Squad responded to a report of felony Larceny at 1308 W Vernon Avenue. It was reported that the subject in the photo entered the business and stole items before fleeing the scene.
On August 12, 2024, KPD’s C-Squad responded to a breaking and entering report at Squires Automotive , located at 603 N Herritage Street. Officers are currently working to identify the individuals captured in the photos.
On July 27, 2024, the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of E Lenoir Avenue and Davis Street. Upon arrival, officers found Stefan Pigford, 57, of Kinston, injured in the roadway.
KPD officers were called to 2407 N Herritage Street regarding a vehicle parked in a fire lane with the keys locked inside. Upon arrival, officers began addressing multiple fire lane violations.
KPD"s C-Squad officers were searching the area of Dixon Street for a report of shots fired. Officers made contact with Sentelle Leonard (24 of Goldsboro, NC) in the area and discovered he was illegally concealing a handgun.
KPD Officers are currently attempting to identify the subject in the photo. This incident is related to the offender taking a woman's purse.
On Friday, July 5, 2024, A-Squad Officers received information related to a stolen vehicle being driven around Kinston. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen to Green County Sheriff's Office. Officers located the vehicle on the 1500 block of Dr. MLK Jr Blvd and made contact with the driver, (17 year old juvenile from Kinston) and took him into custody. With the assistance of Green County Sheriff's Office, the juvenile was transported to Green County and released to a parent.
On Thursday, July 4, 2024 at 12:00 pm, KPD's D-Squad observed a vehicle being operated on Vernon Avenue with fictious plates and illegal tint violations. Officers initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and the driver, Okeith Parker (39 of Kinston) immediately fled. Officers pursed Parker until he came to a stop on the 800 block of Dixon Street. Parker began swallowing bags of suspected narcotics. Officers were able to gain entry into the vehicle, remove Parker, and effect the arrest.
KPD Officers responded to a report of a vehicle B&E on the 300 N Herritage Street. Officers met with the local business owners and obtained video evidence of two offenders.
KPD's A-Squad responded to a motor vehicle crash with injury at W Vernon Avenue and Hardee Road. The investigation revealed Deborah Smith (33 of Goldsboro) was impaired. Smith was arrested and placed in the LC Jail.
KPD Officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit that started in the city of Kinston and went to Greene County. It involved members of the Kinston Police Department, Lenoir County Sheriffs Office, Greene County Sheriffs Office, Snow Hill Police Department, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

KPD's B-Squad responded to the 400 block of East Gordon Street for a report of a vehicle crash involving a dirt bike and a ATV. Officer arrived on scene and the investigation revealed that both the dirt bike and the ATV were being driven recklessly on the roadway.
