Two men, both out of jail on pre-trial charges, were arrested Thursday by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office SCARR (Street Crimes and Rapid Response) unit.
A man was arrested Friday by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office for a break-in at Banks Elementary School that occurred Oct. 27.
According to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, a Wallace man has been arrested for the murder of Anthony Harris of La Grange. “I would like to acknowledge the hard work by our investigators in this case,” Lenoir County Sheriff Jackie Rogers said. “They worked around the clock to make sure we caught the person who committed this crime. The residents of Lenoir County are lucky to have such dedicated public servants protecting them.”
Lenoir County Public Schools was among several school districts across the state to receive via email today an anonymous, non-specific threat to school safety. Notified immediately by LCPS, local law enforcement began an investigation and, out of an abundance of caution, dispatched additional personnel to our schools to conduct walk-throughs.
All traffic on Liddell Road -- from Eric Sparrow Road to Old Pink Hill Road -- has been blocked by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office due to a barricaded subject at a Liddell Road residence. When the situation is resolved, the road will re-open.

On 4/11/2023, Ash Ren-Harvey, the owner of Roxie’s, reported that individuals had stolen items from behind her business on two separate occasions. Ms. Ren-Harvey was able to identify one of the subjects as Chad Thomas.
Effective immediately, pistol purchase permits will no longer be issued by any sheriff in North Carolina. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office has stopped processing pistol purchase permit applications, including pending applications.
