A three-month investigation into the selling and distribution of methamphetamine in Lenoir County resulted in the arrest of a Lenoir County woman on Thursday.
On January 16, 2025, at approximately 9:44 PM, officers from B-Squad conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Stadium Drive and Charlotte Avenue. The driver, identified as Montez Nelson, 44, of Kinston, became uncooperative and refused to follow officer commands. After officers removed Nelson from the vehicle, a search uncovered a firearm, drug paraphernalia, and cocaine.

On January 10, 2025, the Kinston Police Department was notified of an assault on a 6-year-old child by LCPS Central Office . Officers spoke with the child's parents, who had been informed of the incident by Northwest Elementary School. The officers were told that the child's substitute teacher, Martha Jones (69, of Kinston), had hit their child.
The Kinston Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating Bryson Bradley, 21 years old, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Korie Williams on September 20, 2024. Bradley has been evading authorities since the incident, and law enforcement is actively seeking his arrest.
A Lenoir County woman and a Goldsboro man have been arrested on first degree murder charges for a homicide that took place on Dec. 8 in Lenoir County.
Christine Kowalczyk, an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at East Carolina University (ECU), is set to join industry experts at the Social Media Summit 2025 (SMS2025) as a panelist.
