Veteran’s United has made it possible for every single student at Jones Senior High School (JSHS) to take home two books for free. There are 522 students that attend JSHS. The value of this donation of 1,044 books could range from $6,000-$20,000.
Snow Hill post office joined the fight against breast cancer in the U. S. Post Office Breast Cancer Awareness initiative during October 2023. The results were phenomenal for the Snow Hill Office. Competing with all the post offices in North Carolina, the office finished second in the state, behind New Bern which placed first

The Lenoir County Board of Education convened a special meeting on January 16, 2024, primarily to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of board member Keith King on December 5, 2023.
Following the change in leadership when Lenoir County Board of Education member Keith King assumed the newly vacant Lenoir County Commissioners seat once held by Chad Rouse, the school board will hold a special meeting to appoint a replacement for King’s seat.
