La Grange man arrested on drug charges

According to the Lenoir County Shriff’’s office on March 3, 2020, Adam Wade Williams of LaGrange, North Carolina was arrested on multiple state drug charges, pursuant to a narcotics investigation conducted by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit. Detectives made undercover purchases of crystal methamphetamine from Williams during the investigation.

Kinston Police Department promotes from within

The recent Kinston Police Department Promotion and Officer Swearing-in ceremony solidified the latest installation of new hires which will give KPD a full department, one they haven't had since 2010. More than 100 people filled the banquet room inside Kinston Community Center to show their support.

Chief Tim Dilday said during the ceremony, "Live a life of purpose; there's a known reason that each of you put on a uniform the first time, don't lose sight of that reason; the day you think it's too difficult or it's not worth it, the day you feel unappreciated, disrespected think of the sacrifices that Deputy Chief Pate, Lt. Wiggins and countless others who came before us in order for us to have the prosperity that we now experience."

Kinston Police issue warrants for murder at Red Carpet Inn

Kinston Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Colby Jamaal Wilson, 24 of Kinston, NC in relation to the Murder and shooting that occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 208 E New Bern Rd. Mr. Wilson is wanted for Murder, Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill. Anyone that knows the whereabouts of Mr. Wilson or has additional information about this incident is asked to contact the Kinston Police Department.

Update to a shooting incident on 2/8/2020 that occurred at 208 E. New Bern Rd., Kinston, NC.

Two victims have been identified in this case who suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Randall Andrews, 27 years old of Kinston, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at UNC Lenoir Hospital. The second victim, Karl Shackleford, 26 years old of Kinston, was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC for further treatment. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Kinston Police Department.

Family Dollar robbed - suspect flees on foot

According to the Kinston Police Department on 02/07/2020 at 7:56 a.m., Kinston Police responded to a reported Robbery at Family Dollar located at 608 N McLewean St Kinston, NC. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with staff who advised an unknown B/M in his mid-twenties wearing a black hoodie came in the store and displayed a firearm while demanding money from the sales clerk.

Kinston Police Investigate: Female set on fire

According to a press release by the Kinston Police Department, on Monday, February 03, 2020 at 10:52 am, a Kinston Police Department officer on patrol was flagged down by a passerby at the intersection of Bright and East Streets. On the sidewalk was a 24-year-old female, later identified as Khloe McNeal from Kinston, who was suffering from severe burns to her upper body.

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on Monday, February 03, 2020 at 7:08 p.m., officers of the Kinston Police Department arrested 41-year-old Venice Taylor of Jacksonville, NC in connection with this case.

Kinston Police: Fatal stabbing, suspect in custody

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on 01/14/2020 at 9:31 p.m., Kinston Police responded to the 7 Bldg. Carver Courts, Kinston, NC in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and found a male subject, age 29 of Kinston, with a fatal stab wound to the chest. The suspect, identified as Anthony Antwon Brooks Jr., age 26 of Kinston, NC, was taken into custody moments after this incident occurred near the crime scene.

Kinston Police make Attempted First Degree Murder arrest

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on Sunday, January 5, 2020 Kinston Police with the assistance of the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Department located and arrested Matthew Alex Harrell, age 18 of La Grange, NC for his involvement in a shooting that occurred near the 300 Block of Richard Green Ct., Kinston, NC back in November 2019.

Lenoir County Sheriff's Office make Kinston drug and firearm arrest

Krisotpher Tyson was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of firearm by felon, possession of schedule II controlled substance, identify theft, resisting public officer and child support order for arrest. He was confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center under an $80,000 secured bond and a $1,908 cash child support purge.

Jasmine Ebbert was arrested and charged with resisting public officer and was confined in the Lenoir County Sheriff's Detention Center under a $1,000 secured bond.
