Snow Hill - On Friday, February 28, Greene County Middle School presented a celebration of Black History featuring Rep. Don Davis (D-NC 1) as a guest speaker for the event. The event was a culmination of events from throughout the month leading up to the “Old Skool vs. New Skool” program that was presented.
On Friday, July 19, 2024, Greene County Schools broke ground on the construction of the new Greene Central High School. Greene County along with Greene County Schools supported by Rep. Chris Humphrey and current US Rep but former State Senator Don Davis secured funding from the Department of Public Instruction for the 60 million dollar construction of a brand new high school. The new school will replace the current school that was built in 1960.
Bethel Christian Academy (BCA) has announced that they have achieved accreditation by the North Carolina Christian School Association (NCCSA) effective May 1, 2024, for a term of five years. According to the press release received, NCCSA School Accreditation provides a benchmark for Christian schools which measures standards, performance, integrity, and quality.
Snow HIll – Greene County Schools hosted the 9th Annual STEM Expo on Thursday, April 25. This year the Expo was a multi-site experience with STEM students from Greene Central, GCMS, and GEC leading stations and sharing their creations. Students from West Greene, Snow Hill Primary, and Greene County Intermediate got a first-hand experience of what STEM looks and feels like later in their school career.
On Friday, April 19, Greene County Schools named Ms. Joanne Duncan as the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Duncan teaches Culinary Arts at Greene Central High School. She was wonderfully surprised and brought to tears with the news during an event her students were catering for the Greene County School Board of Education and Greene Central High School student leaders.
Snow Hill - On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Greene County Middle School will host its second annual Spring Fling. The focus of this night is to bring together the community, families, and staff all to focus on fun and getting ready for the NC End of Grade Tests.
Snow HIll - Greene Central High School has recently named their teacher of the year for this school year. This year Joanne Piner Duncan was chosen as the Ram’s Teacher of the Year.

Snow Hill - The Greene County Parks and Recreation Department has announced the dates for Fall Sports sign-ups. Parents who are interested in signing up their children for Flag Football, Baseball, T-Ball, and Soccer can do so at the Greene County Wellness Center from August 28 through September 15. Some sports may request a copy of your child's Birth Certificate.

Snow Hill - Greene Central High School’s Marching Rams have kicked off their 2023-24 season. Since July 24th the members of the band have been meeting at Greene Central for Band Camp from 9-5. They have been working hard on their halftime show, marching basics, and new music.
