On October 10, 2024, at approximately 9:21 PM, officers from the Kinston Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle crash on the 1000 block of Westover Avenue. While en route, they were informed that the driver had fled the scene on foot.

On July 27, 2024, the Kinston Police Department responded to a report of a bicyclist struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of E Lenoir Avenue and Davis Street. Upon arrival, officers found Stefan Pigford, 57, of Kinston, injured in the roadway.
Kinston Police apprehend suspect in linked hit & run cases
KPD Officers responded to a report of a Hit & Run at Old Snow Hill Road and E Highland Avenue. While on scene and investigating the incident, officers were notified of a second Hit & Run at Pierce Road and N Queen Street.
Kinston Police apprehend driver in felony hit & run
An officer on D-Squad observed a Dodge Charger crash into a Chevrolet SUV at the intersection of Herritage Street and Airport Road. As the officer approached the vehicle crash, the Dodge Charger fled the scene. The officer was able to catch up to the Dodge Charger and identify the driver as Ian Adams (36). Adams was taken into custody for Felony Hit & Run and Driving While Impaired.
Roseboro man arrested for hit & run during storm and power outages
During today’s storm and power outage, KPD Officers responded to a Hit & Run near the traffic circle on DR MLK JR Blvd. The offender struck and damaged personal property as he continued driving west on King St. Officers located the offender and his vehicle at the Fuel Warehouse on Hwy 70.
Vehicle identified in hit and run, suspects sought
The vehicle has been identified and suspects are being sought. This case is still under investigation and juveniles are suspected.
