On June 17, 2025, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad conducted a traffic stop on the 200 block of West New Bern Road for a registration plate violation. During the stop, officers discovered that the driver, Joseph Carr, 58, of North Augusta, South Carolina, did not possess a valid driver’s license.
On June 17, 2025, at approximately 1:22 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad responded to a report of a disturbance at Sam’s Mini Mart, located at 1419 North Queen Street. The disturbance involved a verbal altercation between the store clerk and a customer.

On March 4, 2025, at 2:16 PM, officers from Kinston Police Department's D-Squad conducted a traffic stop on NC 11. The driver, 71-year-old Tyrone Moore of Ayden, NC, was suspected of driving while impaired. After an investigation, officers arrested Moore and charged him with:

The Kinston Police Department has obtained arrest warrants for Thomas Mason (30) and Davon Williams (24), both of Kinston, in connection with the murder of Anzaryia Cobb on August 25, 2024.
KPD's A-Squad responded to a motor vehicle crash with injury at W Vernon Avenue and Hardee Road. The investigation revealed Deborah Smith (33 of Goldsboro) was impaired. Smith was arrested and placed in the LC Jail.
Officers on C-Squad conducted a traffic stop with Sincere Teach (25 of Kinston). During the traffic stop officers discovered Teach was wanted for several Orders for Arrest. Teach was placed under arrest and officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.

Christina Graham Tresloni, 39, of the Bryce Hardison Road area, was served arrest warrants by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The warrants were the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving fentanyl and methamphetamine.
