Greene County mourns loss of Sergeant with Sheriff's Office

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Sergeant Joseph Phillip Heck. Sergeant Heck died at his home late Wednesday afternoon on July 16th 2025. Sergeant Heck had served in law enforcement for over 20 years in various roles, but for the last 6 years served with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Sergeant Heck served his County and community well and will be missed.

Please keep both his family, friends, and members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to navigate through this tragic event.

We would ask that you respect the privacy of his family and members of the Sheriff’s Office as we mourn his loss.

No funeral arrangements have been made at this time.
