Obituary: Wallace Jones

Wallace Jones left his earthly home on May 22, 2025. He was born in Onslow County, in 1932 to Clarence and Nora Mae Jones.

He was married to the love of his life, Ella Marie Jones, for 67 years. They had two children, Barbara Ann Jones and Wallace Michael Jones.

Wallace was a life-long employee of L Harvey & Sons. He managed Harvey’s Food Center for over 40 years. He continued working at Harvey’s Chemical Warehouse until his retirement, in 2018.

Wallace was a founding member of Rivermont Baptist Church, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and a deacon.

Wallace is survived by his daughter, Barbara Ann Jones of Kinston; son, Wallace Michael Jones (Kelly) of Kinston; grandsons, Wallace Michael Jones, Jr. (Rachel) of Suffolk, VA, Steven Anthony Jones of Cary and Matthew Ryan Jones of Winterville and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
