Letter to the Editor: God blessed me with two good men

Recently, when I embarked on a journey to run errands, I was met with a message informing me that the tire pressure in my tires was remarkably low. I thought to myself, what a fantastic opportunity to showcase my self-sufficiency! I heard a voice in my head say, you've got this, put some air in those tires and get moving!

I drove to the car wash in Grifton and began the task of inflating all four of my tires. Years ago, my dad, Robert Lee Chapman, who was a brilliant car mechanic, taught me the art of putting air in tires using the old contraption. When Richard Lee Hill, my deceased husband began to face the challenges of Parkinson’s and his hands began to shake, he empowered me with the knowledge of how to use the machine at the car wash.

Well, I successfully added the perfect amount of air to my tires. I got in my car and drove to Ayden to complete my errands with confidence! Again, I was beaming with pride at my accomplishment.

Although my fingertips suffered from the cold weather, my spirit remained unbroken. God placed two good men in my life. Men that I could trust and depend on. Two men taught me how to survive before they went to heaven.  I have no doubt in my mind that the voice telling me what to do was the two good men that God had placed in my life. Thank God for those two good men. Sometimes we have to do what we have to do!
