January 22, 2025, approximately 6:18 pm, C-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on the 600 block of W Vernon Avenue. During the traffic stop officers conducted a probable cause search that led to the recovery of narcotics and a firearm. Convicted felon, Erik Penaloza (26 of Deep Run) was a passenger of the vehicle and was in possession of the firearm. Penaloza was arrested for Possessing a Firearm by Felon. He was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.
