Kinston man arrested with nine pounds of meth and marijuana
A Kinston man on probation was arrested today when he was caught with more than 9 pounds of methamphetamine and marijuana in his vehicle by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.
While conducting traffic enforcement on U.S. 70 in La Grange, LCSO deputies performed a vehicle stop on Marquis Myers, 36, for traffic infractions. They developed a probable cause for a search and located nearly 5 pounds (2.2 kilograms) of methamphetamine and 4 pounds of marijuana.
Myers was placed into custody and transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was charged with:
· Two charges of trafficking methamphetamine
· Maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance
· Possession with intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana
· Felony possession of marijuana
Due to being on probation, Myers was jailed with no bond.
