Lenoir County Rotaract to Host Annual Holiday Events at Fairgrounds

The Lenoir County Rotaract Club is bringing holiday cheer to the community with its Annual Holiday Car Show and Drive-In Movie Night, set to take place Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Lenoir County Fairgrounds. The day-long festivities promise something for everyone, from car enthusiasts to families seeking festive entertainment.

The event will kick off with the highly anticipated Holiday Car Show, which opens its gates at 11 a.m., with the show running from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants and spectators alike will enjoy a dazzling display of classic, custom, and unique vehicles. This year’s show will feature two exciting awards: the crowd-favorite “Fan Favorite” and a new category, “Best Dressed.” Attendees are encouraged to get into the holiday spirit by decking out their vehicles in festive decorations to compete for the “Best Dressed” title. The awards will be announced at 2:30 p.m.

Organizers remind attendees that all car show participants must exit the show field by 3 p.m. Those planning to attend the evening’s drive-in movie will need to re-enter when the gates reopen.

“This is more than just a car show—it’s a celebration of community and the holiday season,” said Cailin Best, Lenoir County Rotaract president.

Later that evening, the Drive-In Movie Night will feature the holiday classic Elf. Gates for the movie will open at 5:30 p.m., with the screening starting promptly at 7 p.m. Food trucks and family-friendly entertainment will be available on-site, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees of all ages.

“This event is a hallmark of our Rotaract Club, bringing the community together while supporting local nonprofits,” said Best. A portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to a local nonprofit organization, continuing the Rotaract’s mission of giving back to Lenoir County.

The Lenoir County Rotaract emphasizes that both events are family-friendly and encourages all attendees to respect the grounds during their visit.
