Arrest made after disturbance

Arrest made after disturbance

On October 19, 2024, B-Squad officers were on patrol in the vicinity of Pearson Park when they observed an individual, later identified as Joshua Smith, tapping on the window of a patrol vehicle. Upon inquiry about his needs, Mr. Smith became violent and belligerent towards officers.

Despite multiple opportunities given to leave the area peacefully, Mr. Smith continued to be disorderly. Following repeated warnings, he was informed that he was under arrest. Mr. Smith failed to comply with the officers’ commands, leading to his removal from the scene.

Mr. Smith was placed in the Lenoir County Jail for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting a Public Officer.
