Rep. Humphrey re-appointed Chairman of House Insurance Committee, to serve on several other key committees
RALEIGH, N.C. – On Tuesday, North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore re-appointed Rep. Chris Humphrey (R – Lenoir, Greene, Jones) to serve as the Chairman of the House Committee on Insurance, and as a member of Agriculture, Appropriations, Appropriations - Agriculture and Natural and Economic Resources, Disaster Recovery and Homeland Security, and Health committees.
“It is an honor to have been re-appointed by the Speaker to serve as the Chairman of the Insurance Committee, among other committee appointments,” said Humphrey, “I’m excited to continue the important work of keeping insurance costs low for businesses and families. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to put my knowledge and expertise in these areas to use – to advocate for common-sense legislation and continued economic growth across our great state.”
Rep. Chris Humphrey is a resident of Kinston and has represented House District 12 in the North Carolina General Assembly since elected to the seat in 2018.

The House of Representatives officially seated members on January 11, electing leadership and adopting its rules package for the biennium. The House is set to reconvene on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, to begin committee work and bill filing.
