Starting Salary:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Performs technical work in the coordination, maintenance, support and operation of the County's telecommunication computer systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Considerable knowledge of computers and networking systems; and of their applications and limitations.
• Considerable knowledge of the capabilities and limitation of information systems and computers and related peripheral equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of computer technology, hardware and software applications, and trouble shooting problems in a variety of computer programs.
• Considerable knowledge of computer operations, methods, and techniques.
• Ability to detect and correct system failures and report programming failures.
• Ability to follow technical oral and written instructions.
• Ability to train and coordinate the user departments and personnel in computer operations.
• Ability to understand and explain technical computer language and manuals.
• Ability to analyze technical data and write clear and concise operating instructions.
• Ability to determine source and causes of computer operational problems and obtain necessary resources for correcting.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, professional computer specialists, and the general public.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
• Willingness to keep current with the rapidly changing computer technology.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years’ experience in the use of computing and information technology resources. Preferred: Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning or graduation from a two-year college with a major in information processing, data processing, computer operations, or related field and considerable experience as a computer operator, data processing specialist, or computer coordinator; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
