The Caswell Center Foundation will host its 20th annual Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 2 at the Falling Creek Country Club.

The cost to participate is $75, which includes a green fee and cart, one mulligan, beverage service, a goody bag, team photo and a barbecue chicken meal. The tee-off will commence at 1 p.m. and all proceeds from the tournament will go toward benefiting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, along with their families, across Eastern North Carolina.

Danielle Howell, executive director of the Caswell Center Foundation, said she’s hoping the tournament is a success.

“This is the only fundraiser that we do, and all the money will support those dealing with intellectual and developmental issues over 38 counties,” Howell said. “We’re looking for golfers and sponsors, and hopefully people come out to support a great cause.”

Harvey Taylor has participated in every tournament since its inception and said the event has been beneficial in a lot of ways for the Caswell Center.

“I was on the golf committee and worked at Caswell for 35 years,” Taylor said. “We try to help the residents of the Caswell Center and there are more things we’re able to provide thanks to the Foundation and events like this.”

A variety of sponsorships are needed for the tournament, ranging in the categories of gold sponsor ($2,000), silver ($1,000), tournament ($500) and hole ($100). For information on sponsorship or how to register a team, contact Howell at 252-208-3790 or Wiley Leonard at 252-208-3780.
