Legislation to restart Maysville's Housing Project

Wednesday afternoon, the NC Senate approved Senate Bill 382. The bill provides the North Carolina Office of Recovery and Resiliency (NCORR) with an additional $50M along with directing NCORR to sign the subrecipient agreements to proceed with the projects it obligated in Round 3 of the Affordable Housing Development Fund by December 31, 2024.

Yep, Friendsgiving, the word is a mix up of “friends” and “Thanksgiving” and the idea is to spend an evening near the Thanksgiving Holiday with your best buds.  Apparently the “younger” generation has been celebrating this for several years, but my more “tenured” generation has finally caught up.

Sisters United, a grassroots non-profit organization co-owned by Ms. Victor Fields and Mrs. Hattie King-Hall, is proud to announce the 7th Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner. This cherished tradition, featuring a full home cooked Thanksgiving meal, will take place, Saturday, November 23, 2024,  at 12:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day in the Grainger Stadium parking lot, located on Vernon Avenue in Kinston, NC.
