UPDATE (6:30 A.M., FRIDAY):

The suspect has not been located. We continue to employ a heavy law enforcement presence, including Special Response Team (SRT) members, in the area.

North Lenoir High School has been searched and is safe for students. There will be a large law enforcement presence around and in the area of the high school today, including a SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team in place.

UPDATE:

The suspect in this event is Ryan Keith Everett, 38, from La Grange (photo is attached).

The suspect committed a robbery in Greene County, stole two firearms and went to a Wheat Swamp Road address and shot two individuals.

BREAKING: An armed white male is being sought in the area of U.S. 258 and Wheat Swamp Road. All residents in that area are asked to STAY IN THEIR HOMES at this time.
