Obituary: Annette D. Waters

Annette D. Waters, 78, of Kinston, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2024, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm at the funeral home.

Annette was born to Elma and Clara Daughety on August 30, 1946. She was a native of Lenoir County and a dedicated and loyal member of First Original Free Will Baptist Church. She loved her church family. Annette was known for her chili and was always more than willing to make a huge pot for church events or family cookouts. Family meals were never complete until “Grammy’s Corn” was on the table. Annette was a big fan of the NFL, and she loved the Washington Redskins.

Annette was never one who could seem to sit still, and she had to occupy her time by staying busy. She enjoyed her time with Lenox China and retired after 20 plus years of employment with them.

Annette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hubert R. Waters, Jr.; daughter, Kim Crumbacker; son, Bert Waters and wife Joy; grandchildren, Summer Jackson, Jesse Shackelford and wife Crystal, Lauren Shackelford, Richard Crumbacker, Jr. (Pook), Berton Waters; and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Elmer Daughety, Jr., Glen Daughety, and her sister, Sarah Watson.

In addition to her parents, Annette is preceded in death by her grandson, Dane C. Crumbacker.
