Raleigh, NC – Patrick Allen Gordon, formerly of Kinston, passed away on August 8, 2023, following a stroke.

A memorial service will be held at Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3805 Carpenter Pond Road, Durham, NC on Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be private in Kinston.

Patrick was born in Indiana on June 11, 1948, to John Allen and Charlotte Cox Gordon. Moving to North Carolina some years ago, Pat’s career began in Winston Salem with Duke Power. Later, moving to Kinston, he was with Kinston Plumbing and Heating and Electricon. He headed the Plumbing Department at Steward Shinn Plumbing and Electric in Greenville. Most recently, he was a Project Manager at Stanford White Associates in Raleigh until his retirement.

He was an active Mason and was honored and proud to have been past Master of two lodges. He was pleased that the Masonic Organization did so much for children in need, especially the orphanage in Oxford. He loved the Lord and loved the people at the church he attended, Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School.

Pat leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Judy Conway Gordon, his children, Eric Allen Gordon and Robin Gordon Maurer, his grandchildren, Aaron Bacher, Patrick Thomas Bacher, Mitch Maurer and Nicholas Bacher; and sister, Meredith Merckson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lendall Kyler.

His wife, Judy, will always remember him to have been ‘A man among men!”
