Walk, Run, or Roll a Mile in our Shoes with RADD
RADD Inc., a nonprofit organization that raises awareness and provides support services for individuals with developmental disabilities, is hosting a virtual event called "Walk, Run, or Roll a Mile in our Shoes" throughout the month of March.
Participants are encouraged to register on RADD's website and track their progress throughout the month. They can choose to walk, run, or roll a mile in any way that suits them, whether that be on foot, on a bicycle, or in a wheelchair. Participants can also get sponsors to support their efforts, with sponsors being able to enter their information on the website and designate who they are sponsoring.
The event is an opportunity for people of all abilities to participate, with RADD's Executive Director, April Houston, saying "You decide how and when you get your miles in." Participants are encouraged to share their progress on social media and tag RADD, helping to raise awareness for the organization and the cause they support.
RADD's mission is to provide skill building through social and recreational activities while offering support services and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The organization also focuses on raising awareness for the developmental disability community, as evidenced by their participation in Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
For anyone looking to participate in the "Walk, Run, or Roll a Mile in our Shoes" event or to sponsor a participant, more information can be found on RADD's website. The organization can also be contacted by phone for any further questions or inquiries.
Events like these are essential for raising awareness and funds for organizations that support individuals with developmental disabilities. By participating in the event, individuals can show their support and make a difference in the lives of those affected by these disabilities. The virtual nature of the event also allows for widespread participation and the opportunity to bring people together from all over to support a common cause.
