Kinston Department of Fire and Rescue Responds to structure fire that sends two to the Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill
On Friday September 29th at 5:05 pm the Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire located at 513 Terminal Street. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and declared a working fire. The individuals that resided at the address had exited out of the house but went back in to the home while initial fire crews were preparing their equipment to attack the fire.
The individuals were removed by fire personnel and the fire was quickly extinguished. The individuals were transported to UNC Lenoir by Lenoir County Emergency Medical Services. After being transported to UNC Lenoir the victims were then flown via helicopter to the NC Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill NC. Their current condition is unknown at this time. Kinston Department of Fire & Rescue’s Origin & Cause Fire Investigation Team remained on scene to investigate the structure fire with assistance from a NC Office of State Fire Marshall investigation team member. This incident is still under investigation.
