Neuse News Sports is seeking sports enthusiasts interested in middle school, high school and college sports coverage for Lenoir, Greene and Jones counties. Our Freelancers (a.k.a. stringers) will be independent contractors supervised by the Neuse News Sports Editor, who will coordinate coverage of local area games and events.

Job duties to include:

• Interviewing athletes and coaches

• Photographing and videoing local sporting events

• Using social media to keep readers informed and involved

• Uploading content to the Neuse News Sports website

• Writing and proofreading sports stories for online publication

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with camera/audio equipment

• Strong writing skills

• Organizational skills

• Self-motivator

• Driver’s license (required)
