Update: Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office on the scene, incident on Neuse Road
Update:
At 2:19, a trespassing call was reported. The incident happened across the street from 3776 Neuse Road. The first officer was on the scene at 2:41. At 2:49, two officers on the scene requested a supervisor.
At 2:57, a deputy called in shots fired. Witnesses called and said deputies needed help as they had no control of the situation. A 3rd party/civilian felt deputies were being overwhelmed and seriously attacked, so he fired a shot to protect deputies.
Body cameras were active but knocked off the officers. The suspect was hit and treated by EMS.
Officers are receiving medical attention. “They had bumps and bruises,” said Sheriff Ronnie Ingram.

Around 3:00 pm on Thursday afternoon, an incident occurred at 3776 Neuse Road. Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, including their Crime Scene Investigator team, is on the scene.
An East Care helicopter was originally called but has since been canceled. At least one person has been transported by ground to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Lenoir County Emergency Services Director Murry Stroud is on the scene along with Sheriff Ronnie Ingram and Major Ryan Dawson.
