On Thursday, March 12, 2020 Kinston Police Officers arrested Laquan Malik Newborn, age 22 of Kinston, NC for his involvement in the shooting that occurred on the 300 BLK of E. Bright St. Kinston, NC on March 11, 2020. Mr. Newborn was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Mr. Newborn was held in the Lenoir County Jail under a $500,000.00 secure bond.
